Abstract

We present a fan-out and reach-extending device, the Muxtender, to effectively increase XGS-PON split ratio by 4x (8x), and reduce OLT per-port cost by ~53% (~69%). The Muxtender can significantly reduce CAPEX and OPEX for 10G-PON rollout. © 2021 The Author(s)
