Low-Cost Plastic Receptacle Type Transmitter Module for the Optical Subscriber Access Network Systems

Abstract

Plastic-transfer-moulding was applied to a receptacle optical module. The sub-assembly consists of Si-V groove and laser diode with -13.2 dB coupled to a butt joint single-mode-fiber. The coupling loss change during the mould was less than 2 dB.
