Abstract

Corporate storage needs have undergone a dramatic transformation in recent years. As companies downsize from proprietary mainframe environments to local-area, multi-vendor networks, storage challenges have multiplied. Before, a company could embrace a single, highly-centralized storage solution for its mainframe; now, the company requires a multitude of storage systems for its individual networks, and each network storage solution must manage the needs of network clients as well as servers.
