Abstract

In this contribution we will compare Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) and Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Lasers (VCSELs) as sources for short distance inter-and intra-MCM optical interconnect modules considering their bandwidth, power dissipation and channel density performance.
