Abstract
Third-order optical nonlinearities of semiconductor quantum dots are investigated theoretically. Two quantum confinement regimes are analyzed: i) the situation in which both, electrons and holes are quantum-confined and Coulomb interactions may be ignored; and ii) the regime where only the electrons are quantum-confined and the much heavier holes move in the Coulomb field of the average electron charge.
