Coulomb effects in semiconductor quantum dots

Abstract

Three-dimensional quantum confinement in semiconductor microcrystallites occurs when the crystallite size becomes comparable to the exciton Bohr radius. The confinement effects in such quantum dots give rise to pronounced modifications of the electronic and optical properties.
