Glass waveguide devices on silicon

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

We have developed two waveguides made with conventional silicon technology: one matching an optical fiber and one matching a semiconductor laser. We will discuss the following devices: a hybrid laser chip with 7 KHz linewidth; a 19 × 19 star coupler; an adiabatic polarization splitter; and a 4 channel multiplexer with elliptical Bragg reflectors.
