Diode-pumped injection-seeded, Q-switched Tm:YAG laser

Abstract

Eye-safe coherent lasers with pulse energies of a few millijoules may be useful for Doppler anemometry at ranges of a few kilometers. We will describe the performance of an acousto-optically Q-switched Tm:YAG laser pumped by six 1-W laser diodes, and injection seeded with the output of a monolithic diode-pumped single-frequency laser.
