Abstract

The method developed by Andersen1 allowed us to compute the high-order aberration coefficients in terms of his four aberration functions (S,T,V,W). Using the results obtained by Andersen together with the Aldis theorem2, it was possible to derive a set of equations which permit us to know the contributions of each surface of an optical symmetrical system to the high-order aberrations.
