Abstract

Velocity modulation infrared laser spectroscopy is used to measure gas phase vibration spectra of simple cations (HCO⁺, HNN⁺, NH₄⁺, H₃O⁺, H₂F⁺, CF⁺, CCI⁺, H₃CO⁺, HCS⁺) and anions (OH⁻, NH₂⁻) using color center and diode lasers. From these spectra, accurate structures and potential function data are obtained on these molecules.
