Abstract

Velocity modulation infrared laser spectroscopy is used to measure gas phase vibration spectra of simple cations (HCO+, HNN+, NH4+, H3O+, H2F+, CF+, CCI+, H3CO+, HCS+) and anions (OH, NH2) using color center and diode lasers. From these spectra, accurate structures and potential function data are obtained on these molecules.
