Extracting low dimensional nonlinear dynamics from weak optical turbulence through topological analysis

Abstract

There are many different approaches and techniques which have been developed over the years to study nonlinear dynamical systems. However, in general these apply to low dimensional systems where there is a small number of dynamical variables. In spatially extended systems there are an infinite number of dynamical variables. In such cases, there are relatively few tools available which allow us to extract useful information from the system.
