Vectorial Quadratic Spatial Soliton Excitation and Steering with Noncolinear Input Waves

Abstract

In the last few years 1D and 2D quadratic spatial solitons have been demonstrated in different noncentrosymmetric media in colinear configurations. When the interaction is vectorial (type II process) it has been shown that the direction of propagation of 2D soliton waves in a birefringent bulk media can be controlled via an intensity imbalance between the two lower frequency input beams. The published investigations have been also extended to the interaction between two solitons which are launched into directions either parallel to each other or with a small crossing angle.
