Abstract

Frequency tunable laser diodes are needed for future optical broad band fiber communication systems. For these applications laser diodes with a parallel integrated modulator diode (tunable twin-guide, TTG) are promising candidates since continuous wavelength tuning is controlled by just one electrical parameter (modulator current).[1,2]
