Abstract

Squeezing in x(2) and x(2) media can be theoretically evaluated using a new method, which is a linear input-output transformation for quantum fluctuations. The outgoing field fluctuations are obtained from the incoming ones, which are either the vacuum field fluctuations or the fluctuations of the incoming light beams. The linear input-output transformation is computed from the equations of evolution for the classical fields.
