Abstract

Substrates with periodically alternating ferroelectric domains find applications for quasi-phase-matched second-harmonic generation and acousto-optic devices. Quasi-phase-matching waveguide structures have been demonstrated in LiNbO3 when using Li2O outdiffusion1 or titanium indiffusion2 and in KTP when using ion exchange.3
