Abstract
Continuous wavelength tuning in an integrated semiconductor laser is very attractive for optoelectronic applications. The first demonstration of fine wavelength tuning in a so-called dynamic single-mode (DSM) laser1 was reported as a butt-jointed builtin (BJB) distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) type.2 Furthermore, we presented an improved integrable DSM laser with a novel bundle-integrated-guide (BIG) DBR and demonstrated low-threshold current cw operation.3,4
