Abstract
One-photon studies of coherent energy transfer are hampered by the fact that excitons of well-defined and different wavevectors (k) cannot be prepared in the bulk. In addition, the group velocities of the excitons in molecular crystals and semiconductors are typically low so that even momentary exciton self-trapping can lead to coherence loss over short distances.
