Squeezed light generation with single polarisation mode Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers: Theory and Experiment

Abstract

Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting lasers (VCSELs) although longitudinally singlemode exhibit in principle two polarisation modes. This coexistence induces mode partition noise which modifies strongly their quantum noise properties. In this work we present a theoretical and experimental work on the interplay between quantum noise and polarisation properties.
