Abstract
Semiconductor microcavity structures have been the subject of intense recent interest owing to their interesting physical properties and potential for exploitation. We discuss the nonlinear properties of microcavity samples operating in the strong coupling regime where the normal modes of the system are the Rabi split mixed exeiton-photon modes, referred to as cavity polaritons. We study the spectral and dynamical nonlinearities on a timescale of tens of picoseconds at low temperatures (T=7K) by using the time-resolved pump-probe technique in a reflectivity geometry.
