Abstract

Recently, Bloch oscillations of optically excited wavepackets in semiconductor superlattices have been observed with time-resolved terahertz (THz) emission spectroscopy.1,2 In this paper, we present evidence for Bloch oscillations in the Wannier-Stark ladder (WSL) of the second electron miniband. This is the first observation of coherent charge oscillations in high excited states, where ultrafast dephasing has been assumed to suppress such oscillations.
