Abstract

While in recent years spectroscopy with ultrashort pulses was restricted to applications in the optical and infrared frequency range, in this paper we report an experimental and theoretical study of time-domain spectroscopy with femto second pulses of TeraHz radiation. This newly accessible frequency range, midway between the microwave and infrared frequencies, is important owing both to the samples that can be investigated and to the unusual experimental conditions encountered with these THz pulses.
