Abstract

Different rotating structures (optical reverberators) were observed in a ring resonator which contains a thin layer of the medium with a cubic nonlinearity and spatial field transformer in feedback (FB) loop.1,2 Mathematical description of these phenomena is based on a parabolic equation with a retarded argument, and periodic boundary conditions. Here u is the phase shift of the field in the medium, K is proportional to input intensity of light, θ is the angle coordinate, Δ is the angle of field rotation in FB circuit, and D is an effective diffusion coefficient. The equation corresponds to an experimental situation when the light beam has the form of a thin ring.
