Abstract

A core selective switch (CSS) is the building block for modular spatial cross-connects in future spatial channel networks. We demonstrate the variable optical attenuation functionality In a CSS and show that Inter-core crosstalk less than -37 dB can be ensured even with a 15-dB attenuation.
