Abstract

We fabricate a double cladding uncoupled 19-core EDF with cladding diameter of 166 µm. We confirm that power consumption of a cladding pumped L-band 19-core EDFA with 20 dBm/core output is as small as 1.2 W/core under 11.2W laser diode output for the cladding pump.
