EDF Length Dependence of Amplification Characteristics of Cladding Pumped 19-Core EDFA

Abstract

We demonstrate a C-band cladding pumped 19-core EDFA. Optimum EDF length and output power of the EDFA agree with those of a cladding pumped 7-core EDFA. High output power is brought by sufficiently long EDF.
