CMOS Transceiver Circuits for Energy Efficient Silicon Photonic Interconnects

Abstract

Energy efficient transceivers are necessary to scale optical interconnect performance well below 500fJ/b. We discuss our circuit design work in CMOS transmitter and receiver front-ends optimized for silicon photonic microring resonator-based wavelength division multiplexing interconnects.
