Load Monitoring in Soil Subsurface Using Stimulated Brillouin Scattering Based Distributed Fiber Sensor

Abstract

We propose distributed Brillouin fiber sensor system to capture the pressure changes in soil subsurface. Utilizing pulse propagation time and load related Brillouin frequency shift (BFS), the location of deformation is identified and the pressure change in soil subsurface is captured.
