Periodic Shadowing for Improved Temporal Resolution in Streak Cameras

Abstract

Streak cameras are central to measurements across the sciences. By spatially modulating the entrance slit, we show a more than 20% increase in temporal resolution opening up for sub-picosecond measurements with standard streak camera systems.
