Widely Tunable and High Power Multi-THz Transients from a sub-ps Yb:YAG Thin-Disk System and Parametric Amplification

Abstract

Phase-locked mid-infrared pulses tunable between 18 and 50 THz are generated with peak electric fields of 150 MV/cm. The compact and low-noise system aims at subcycle studies of matter under nonlinear driving or adiabatic bias.
