Compact Silicon Photonics Meandered Mach-Zehnder Modulator

Abstract

We report a C-band compact (100 × 420 µm2) and power efficient (0.9 pJ/bit) SiP meandered Mach-Zehnder modulator with low optical loss (2.09 dB) and demonstrate DAC-less and DSP-free 32 Gbps OOK transmission with Q=6.64 dB.
