Abstract
Polarization properties of Supercontinuum (SC) are an important issue for applications [1]. The continuum generated is generally unpolarized, whereas many applications require a polarized SC. A natural reason for polarization degradation is the random residual birefringence that is always present in nonpolarization preserving fibers. Efforts were made to generate polarized SC in high-birefringence fibers [1]. The twisted fiber is attractive for nonlinear applications since it behaves as a perfectly isotropic fiber, unlike a standard non-polarization-maintaining fiber [3]. The circular birefringence induced by twist changes the polarization of a single soliton to circular polarization during the soliton propagation [2].
