Abstract
A novel conception of light-emitting diodes, namely resonant-cavity light-emitting diode, has been proved to have several improvements over conventional LED’s including better spectral purity and enhanced output intensity [1]. However, the fabrication process remains comparable to that of a conventional LED. This makes an RCLED a competitive challenger for a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) for various applications in local area networking, optical computing measurement systems and densely packed displays.
