Laser Cleaning of Radioactively Contaminated Surfaces

Abstract

Within the scope of surface cleaning a Nd YAG laser seems to become a standard for cleaning of antiques, stone facades or other objects suffering from dust and environmental impacts Cleaning is understood as a process which eliminates buggy foreign bodies. The object of such process is to remove impurities or an upper layer covering the original surface without affecting or destroying the underlying structure.
