Abstract

The smoothing of laser beam intensity spatial distributions is a practical need for the development of a majority of laser surface treatment applications. However, the current use of homogenizing waveguides such as kaleidoscopes is not generally a satisfactory solution because of their relatively high associated laser energy loss.
