Abstract

An accurate modelling of distributed feedback (DFB) lasers is useful in order to physically understand their behavior, as well as to provide guidance for the design of their structure. Models of the static and small-signal characteristics of DFB lasers are already available. However, their large-signal dynamic model is still a developing subject. Two models can be used for this purpose now, which include the power transfer matrix model and the transmission-line laser model.1
