Abstract
We present an innovative approach for a mid-IR spectrometer comprising a commercial Fabry-Perot cavity quantum cascade laser. Utilization of the transient blue-chirped emission of such a laser the spectral fingerprint of methane at 8.15μm was clearly observed in absorption.
