Photonic light-trapping and Lambertian limit in thin film silicon solar cells

Abstract

We investigate light-trapping for 1D and 2D periodic patterns in thin film silicon solar cells. Increments of the short-circuit current up to 82% are demonstrated. Theses results are compared with the Lambertian limit to light-trapping.
