Optomechanics with Ultracold Atoms and SiN Membranes

Abstract

An optical lattice formed by reflection from a SiNx membrane creates a bidirectional coupling of atomic and membrane motion. We measure the influence of the atoms on the membrane and explore causes of mechanical dissipation.
