Microparticle Trapping and Sensing with an Integrated Silicon Microdonut

Abstract

We demonstrate an integrated system for particle trapping and sorting. Particles are pulled by optical forces onto a silicon microdonut, and circulate around it. Particle-induced resonance shifts are used for size sensing and counting.
