Abstract

We demonstrate a dual-beam fiber trap for optically stretching lipid vesicles encapsulated with poly(ethylene glycol) polymer solution. Vesicle deformations exhibit ranges of linear and non-linear response for applied peak stresses of ~7-60 mN/m2.
