Optical Pulse Generation Using Fast Graphene Saturable Absorbers on Silicon Waveguides

Abstract

The graphene/silicon hybrid waveguide is applied into a ring cavity laser system working as fast saturable absorber with a recovery time of ~48 ps. Q-switched mode-locking pulses are achieved with a threshold of 11 mW.
