Abstract
A wavefront correction near the focus of a Pettawatt laser system is demonstrated. After correction, the Strehl ratio of focus is improved to 0.90, and the focal spot size using the f/4 off-axis parabola is reduced to 6.20 × 6.77 μm2. With full peak power, the peak intensity of 2.46×1021 W/cm2 is obtained.
