Abstract

A substantially low-threshold, laser-diode-array pumped, acousto-optic Q-switched and nonlinear-mirror mode-locked Nd:YV04 laser is demonstrated with enhanced efficiency. For 10W of pump power, a peak power of 719kW is obtained for mode-locked pulses of width 11.5ps, which is a marked improvement compared to the earlier reports.
