Abstract

We propose an electrooptic frequency shifter, which shifts the optical frequency by multiple of 10-GHz-order modulation frequency. The principle is based on successive Bragg diffraction from a multistage traveling phase grating produced by combination of slant periodic domain inversion and a collinear traveling modulation microwave. Numerical calculation has been presented.
