Abstract

The authors observed a spectral burning hole and group velocity slowdown of light propagation by population oscillation technique in the absorption region of Erbium- doped optical fiber. Measured bandwidth of the hole was about 55 Hz. Delay measured was 13.72 ms, group velocity was 2.186൴l03m/s.
