Abstract

We report a polarization maintaining version of a pulse compressor based on a dispersion decreasing fiber (DDF) and a dispersion-imbalanced nonlinear optical loop mirror (DI-NOLM). The pulses at the DDF output are as short as 43 fs. Using post amplification at the DI-NOLM output, we obtained a 170 fs pedestal-free pulse train at an average power of 100 mW and a repetition rate of 10 GHz.
