Transverse Mode Control of Oxide Confined Multimode VCSEL by Dielectric Aperture

Abstract

A novel method is proposed for transverse mode control of oxide confined vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) by dielectric aperture (DA) formed on the top surface. Suppression of higher order transverse modes is confirmed by narrowing of far field pattern.
