Investigation of thionin interacting with guanine-rich duplexes and hairpin quadruplexes by satellite holes

Abstract

The satellite hole spectra show that the interactions of thionin to guanine-rich duplexes and quadruplexes are very different. A very broad nonresonant hole is observed in the presence of duplexes. We tentatively describe this feature by fast charge transfer resulting from the intercalation of thionin in the base pairs of duplexes.
