Abstract
In recent years single-frequency, tunable pulsed Ti:sapphire lasers are being required increasingly for various applications related to laser radars measurements of atmospheric species. We report a comparative study of pulsed as well as cw injection seeding of a Ti:sapphire laser pumped by a Q-switched frequency-doubled Nd:YAG laser. As the spectroscopic applications requires spectral narrowing along with a wide range of tuning, we report the capability of a tunable pulsed injection seeder for tuning of a ring Ti: sapphire laser, without any intracavity wavelength selective element.
