Abstract

Contact microscopy with a laser-plasma soft X-ray source has been developed mainly to observe biological objects.1,2 We have successfully applied it to observation of polymer composite textures.3 This work reports application of the contact microscopy to the study of infiltration of sulfuric acid into polymer films. It is known that sulfuric acid is a constituent of acid rain and that concentrated sulfuric acid deteriorates polymer materials.
